Lutheran Services Carolinas (LSC) has once again been recognized as one of the nation’s leading providers of senior living and aging services, ranking as the 43rd largest nonprofit senior services provider in the United States on the 2026 LeadingAge Ziegler 200 list. The annual report ranks the nation’s largest multi-site nonprofit organizations serving older adults.
LSC is also the second-largest nonprofit multi-site senior living organization in North Carolina. Nationally, LSC ranks 19th in nursing care beds, 58th in assisted living beds, and 77th in independent living units, reflecting the organization’s broad reach in providing care, services, and housing options for older adults across North Carolina. LSC is listed in Revenue Tier II, representing organizations with annual revenue between $100 million and $199 million, and has a BBB Fitch debt rating.
“LSC is proud of its growth, not for any ranking but that more ministry is being provided to more people,” said LSC President Ted Goins. “Even this ranking doesn’t cover all of LSC as it doesn’t include LSC’s $30 million child and family ministries and numerous external collaborations. We will just keep growing and serving.”
LSC owns and operates 11 senior living communities across North Carolina: Aston Park in Asheville; GlenFlora in Lumberton; Trinity Elms in Clemmons; Trinity Glen in Winston-Salem; Trinity Grove and Trinity Landing in Wilmington; Trinity Oaks in Salisbury; Trinity Place in Albemarle; Trinity Ridge and Trinity Village in Hickory; and Trinity View in Arden.
In addition to its senior living communities, LSC provides adult day services, home care services and affordable senior housing in North Carolina and partners in four PACE programs (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly).
The LeadingAge Ziegler ranking represents only one part of LSC’s ministry. It does not include approximately $30 million in annual revenue from LSC’s child and family services, which include foster care, adoption, mental health services, refugee resettlement, disaster response, and residential services for people with disabilities in North and South Carolina.
