Twas the night before Christmas… No, actually it was the day after Thanksgiving.
In most of America, the day is known as Black Friday when all the retail vendors encourage folks to shop as a hearty start to the Christmas season. At Trinity View it could be called Fun Friday.
The black faded into fun as our masked residents forgot being carefully isolated from public activity and set about acquiring seasonal gifts and presents from somewhere in the “clouds”.
A shopping mall made of computer PC’s was set up in the meeting room with staff helping socially distanced Trinity Viewers to shop on line. The purchases were varied and interesting.
Pat Doverspike was buying children’s books to be sent directly to grandchildren and other descendants. Sharon Conoley was helping Jean Cox edit group pictures providing her portrait to be applied to 4X6 canvasses and delivered to Jean in time for Christmas gifts. Marge Caudle was buying “unmentionables”, at least she wouldn’t mention what she was seeking. I didn’t press the matter. No question, families and friends are going to be very happy with the gifts from our thoughtful residents.
To add to the fun atmosphere, snacks of fruit cake, cheese and crackers, chocolates, and candy canes were accompanied by eggnog and carols in the background. Christmas is on the way!
I wandered in just in time for the snacks as I had already made my Black Friday purchases earlier in the week. A nice pair of Haggar slacks for $8.98, a gift to myself, arrived in the mail on the very fun day. They fit perfectly, so I thought I’d order another pair. They were already sold out!
What’s wrong with this country? I guess I’ll have another eggnog!
