There’s something special about a Lutheran Services Carolinas (LSC) senior living community: The surroundings are vibrant, yet calm and well-ordered. Teammates and residents look out for each other. And – as when you’re waiting for the curtain to rise on a Broadway show – a feeling of anticipation is always in the air.
Community like this doesn’t happen by accident. It requires the sustained attention of seasoned professionals like Trinity View Marketing Director Jonathan Forrester – who also happens to be an actor, director, and set designer.
Forrester has been with LSC’s Arden, North Carolina, senior living community since 2007. His first role was in the dining room, where his quiet reliability quickly earned colleagues’ and residents’ trust.
After just six months, a Life Enrichment position opened up.
“I decided to go for it,” Forrester recalls.
The new role offered more opportunities for creative expression, and Forrester thrived – not only supporting and leading resident activities but also starting new clubs for them. His compassion and willingness to pitch in earned him LSC’s Loyal Service Award in 2016.
As his role at Trinity View has evolved, Forrester’s contributions have continued to grow. He was named marketing director in August of 2023, and while he still rolls up his sleeves wherever needed, he is excited (and a little bit relieved) that Sarah Siwek has joined the team as activities director.
“For a while, I was running activities, driving the bus, and leading tours,” he notes. “It was a lot! Now that Sarah is on board, I have more time to get out into the community, meet prospective residents, and raise Trinity View’s profile.”
And, of course, he still gives lots of tours.
“No two tours are the same,” Forrester says. “I try to gear them to prospective residents’ interests. We’re doing more luncheon tours, and I have gotten our Hospitality Committee involved. They invite prospects to stay for dinner.”
Gracious touches like these help prospective residents picture themselves as part of the Trinity View ensemble.
Outside of work, Forrester serves on the board of Hendersonville Theatre, where he has directed several plays including The Haunting of Hill House, Steel Magnolias, and The Lion in Winter.
